New iPhone App by New Balance – Map My Run

If you are going for an outdoor run this weekend and have an iPhone you may want to download a new iPhone app by New Balance called NB Total Fit.  It uses the GPS in your iPhone to track your running distance and speed.  In fact, the application is built upon the iMapMyRun software platform which is another application you can download.  The NB Total Fit application syncs with the MapMyRun.com website so that you can have a history and map of each run.

I haven’t tried the NB Total Fit application so I can’t really give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down, but it is FREE and it sounds really cool.  In addition to the mapping feature it includes some other slick features like: Calories Burned, Twitter Integration, and Taking Photos while you are running so you have memories of each run.

It says the application also works with the iPod Touch, but I’m not sure how well this would work because the iPod Touch has neither a GPS or camera.

If anyone would like to check out this new application please post your comments so that we can all better understand how well it works.  Have a great workout!
