I would trade a perfect workout plan for a not-so-perfect one that fits into your schedule and is done consistently.

Workout With a Purpose
Not every workout should be an all out, 110%, full intensity, max effort. But every workout should have a purpose and you should be totally focused on that purpose.
A Good Breakfast Sets the Tone
A good breakfast sets the tone for how you eat the rest of the day. Will you be rushed, will you eat healthy, or will you tend to skip other meals like you did at breakfast. I’ve found that if I’m consistent and healthy with my first meal of the day my remaining meals usually follow suit.
These Exercises Should Be In Your Workout
Most of us don’t have hours to spend in the gym so utilizing compound movements allows us to get better results for our efforts. When selecting exercises for workouts you should choose squats, lunges, pull ups, and deadlifts instead of dumbbell curls, tricep extensions, calf raises, and shoulder presses.
Rest
Proper rest is a key component to your health and exercise. Work, family, and fun often come at the expense of rest and our workouts and bodies’ suffer. It’s important to give rest an even higher priority than exercise because you can’t expect great performance when you’re tired and worn out.
The desire to exercise begins with exercising
It is wise to keep in mind that neither success nor failure is ever final.

The best intention to improve your health is nothing without action.
Our bodies come in all shapes and sizes so don’t try to look like some else. Instead focus on becoming a stronger, leaner, more healthy you.
Achieve One Goal at a Time
Do you have a long list of fitness goals you would like to achieve for 2012? If so, realize the ability to stay focused is invaluable to achieving them. With this in mind try, to prioritize your fitness goals (#1, #2, etc.) and then focus only on the #1 goal for the next month or until you achieve it. Then move on to goal #2, #3 and #4. At the end of the year you can look back on what you accomplished through focused commitment rather than having a long list of half forgotten New Year’s resolutions.
It must be borne in mind that the tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn’t a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster to be unable to capture your ideal, but it is a disaster to have no ideal to capture. It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for. Not failure, but low aim is sin.

This is just a cool and inspiring video to watch. Anything is possible.
The Truth About Dieting
I totally agree with this article. Calories In vs. Calories Out.
The only thing I would add is that if you make the choice to eat unhealthy you are almost certain to have a Calorie intake that is too high. Reason being, so many of the processed foods and fast food available to us are very Calorie dense. Sure you could choose to eat fast food burgers and cookies everyday and not be overweight, but it’s not likely you’ll be able to stop short of your required daily/weekly Calorie intake. Therefore an unhealthy diet often leads to weight gain.
We had tickets to the National Finals Rodeo tonight in Las Vegas. I think this picture pretty much says it all in regard to core strength and balance.
